Is it healthy?

The cat who had kidney disease passed away on February 21st. I cried my eyes out.

Since then, I have been cleaning my office, and trying to make it look different so that I don’t feel like he’s just going to walk in and meow at me.

My office was his chosen room since we brought him inside in 2016. It was his favorite room in the house, and he was rarely anywhere else.

I have felt very sad since he’s been gone, and I miss that he used to insist on tucking me in at night. My other cat doesn’t do that.

Is it healthy that I quickly began making changes to the office, and went as far as telling my significant other to hide his bed while I was sleeping? We don’t know what we’re gonna do with it since it was fairly new, and the other cat hates pet beds.

I feel like, had I not started making changes in the office, I wouldn’t be able to cope with the loss. And it’s not like it’s my first rodeo with losing a pet…it’s just that every loss is different. This one for some reason hit me like a ton of bricks…possibly because it all happened so fast, and I expected to have him longer than we did.

It has only been about a month. Grief has no deadline. You make changes for your health and peace of mind. When you are ready, get a new cat. Your other cat likes a friend. You have a lot of love. Losing him so fast shocked you. Be kind to yourself. Lots of pets need good homes. Polar bear hugggggggggsssss.
