Need advice on my kitty again

She is such a drama queen. If I even walk in the direction of her food bowl or the kitchen, she is all over me meowing and circling my feet wanting food. I feed her regularly and as recommended for her weight.

Is this a cat thing? Constantly begging for food?

Has she been dewormed?
Does she have fresh water?

I have a cat that demands her water be served in a glass bowl. She is 24.

Cats need fresh water, daily. It doesn't hurt to provide both kibble and wet food.

And, remember...she is always training you馃檪

@Carla hahaha how true ashes will knock her water bowl over if it's not fresh
OntheroadM
@Carla Yes, dewormed and always has a bowl of fresh water. Hahaha! Good luck for her, I'm not trainable馃ぃ I feed her nothing but wet food.

@Carla Cats are weird like that. I have a 15 year old that will only drink water from my 5 gallon fish tank. I鈥檝e been wanting to get rid of that tank for years now, but until he goes, it stays 馃槀

@Carla Mine likes to drink from a fountain. I have a couple of kitty fountains in the house. The main trick is that the fountain must be large, heavy and porcelain, otherwise kitty will destroy them.

@Northwest how true I had I say had a plastic one
NorthwestM
@Lilnonames I bought several over the years, only to have her shred them to pieces. I now only use porcelain fountains, that I buy from garden centers, designed originally for fish, with filters, multi-layered, electric, etc.
@Ontheroad Maybe provide kibble, too - so that she has a choice???

I have two cats myself... one ate a wet/dry combo diet when we first got him - but went off wet food in Spring so he was exclusively dry fed for two years... his choice.

When the second cat came, he decided to eat wet food again - but only chicken flavour... now I'm waiting to see if he goes back to just dry food when Spring comes again.

His sister (still settling in and only just starting to come out of hiding) seems to be eating two pouches of whatever she's served a day at the moment... but I have still provided her with a bowl of dry food just in case she finishes that and still wants a nibble.

@Carla 24? Wow! Arthritis? That's ancient in cat years!
@Carla That鈥檚 so true about training. One hot day after I had filled my cat鈥檚 water bowl, I got myself some ice water, and on impulse, dropped a cube in her bowl. From that day forward, when I gave her water, she鈥檇 look up expectantly for that ice cube, then she鈥檇 drink. 馃槃

@bijouxbroussard Cats can be trained. The trick is that they mostly train you first.

@Ontheroad she's going to spend her life trying...

@Zaphod42 i had one like that years ago. I set up a large pickle jar with goldfish. He would dip his paw in and lick it off. I never saw him at the wayer bowl.

@Northwest when tosh was younger, she enjoyed a dripping faucet
Carla61-69, F
@Kstrong oh yes. She hobbles around pretty gingerly. She can still jump into then onto the back of her favorite chair. She enjoys the vacuum cleaner. I believe it is the only thing she can hear.

@bijouxbroussard well, she found she preferred her drink iced. Is that so much to ask?馃檭
