Possibly a UTI, get her checked out. my Binx did that for awhile when I first got him. Got him some meds, once it cleared up he stopped doing it and used the litter box every time.

On another note, cats can be spiteful. If you're too harsh with punishment, she could be doing that to spite you

Some cats will do that to mark their territory if they feel threatened or jealous.

Is there a change in the house? Maybe put out a few litter boxes.. maybe that might help. It something stressing her out? She could even be jealous of something.. maybe even upset.

If they are doing it in spots that you tend to frequent like sofas or beds it means something is upsetting them and they want you to fix it.
Have there been any new cats close by? A cat can get upset about what they consider their territory being invaded so they start marking everything as a show of dominance.

UTI makes them do that.
Vet is the only option.

Our cat was doing that, was a urinary tract infection.

I would think probably she has a infection in her bladder. Vet is recommented

Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract cat litter. It has some kind of pheromone in it that makes cats want to use it.
