@mysteryespresso She's clever and well trained. Most of the cats around here are from a colony that has survived quite well in the wild, using the presence of houses as an escape from the coyotes. Missy is from that colony, but she has been my lap cat since her first hour. She was born 4 feet away.
She will get your attention and lead you to what she wants, she's very accustomed to the idea of communication.
