today was the day i had to say goodbye

i got my little girl when i was 19 years old. she was 7 weeks old. everywhere i went, she went. she’s been through it all with me. i absolutely love that little girl with all my heart. she reached 15 years old and was still like a puppy, springing about and full of life. then this last year she’s just declined. back legs started going. couldn’t go on walks. covered in lumps and bumps. today, at 16 years old, it was time to put her to sleep. we had a few hours with her first, family members came to say goodbye. she enjoyed some chicken nuggets, a cornetto ice cream, chocolate chip cookies! me and her nana were with her when she was put to sleep and she passed so peacefully…. i think she was truly ready. she just looked so tired and done. we’re both heartbroken. i can’t even remember what life was like without that furry little pig in my life. i love her with all my heart ♥
