@MoveAlong I doubt it, she's a very successful hunter. She disappears for 10-15 minutes and will bring back some fairly sizable prey. We have wild rabbits by the thousands here, and they only stay as far away as they think she can see. They aren't the brightest of bunnies...😹
Both of my cats are from the local colony that live in the foothills. I often see a feral tom prowling the hills, and they all look fairly healthy.
The key ingredient here is training from an adult cat. I have seen several generations of this colony and the successful cats are kittens that got trained by a mother or sibling.

We once had an indoor/outdoor orange Tom who caught birds at will. Our back yard bordered woods. If we were on the deck or in the yard he would often dart off into the woods to hunt and he rarely came back empty pawed. He liked to drop his prey at our feet. I guess he was offering it to us or wanted praise which he usually got.
