I have two! Pistachio and Noel They’ll go months at a time, putting themselves to bed at a decent hour, and then I’ll have weeks of battling with them for bedtime

I’m getting more interested in birds now, I think my prior disinterest was from early trauma. My mom raised canaries and cockatoos, and when she removed the cage drapes in the morning, the house was relentlessly cheerful.

We have lots of birds. I feel sorry for them, stuck in their metal prison all their lives. My wife and daughter let them out a few times each day which helps, but still. Sad to see them stuck in there all the time.
I would take a dog over birds any day.
