My cat was using the cupboard door where his food was for the same reason. I more or less ignored him and he gave up. He would try to open door and it would slam shut bc he couldn't get his paw in fast enough to keep it open. The slamming was his signal that he wanted attention or food. He's not starving.
I think there's another issue here. While it might seem like he's throwing up for attention, in most cases, vomiting is a sign of a physical issue and cats generally do not intentionally vomit to get attention. If your cat is throwing up frequently, it's important to consult a veterinarian to determine the underlying cause. There may be something wrong with his stomach. I think it's important enough to check out. They're very finicky with food and if you keep changing their food it really messes up their stomach. He sounds like he's got a real problem. You should check to see if he's constipated as well cuz that can make them sick or giving them the wrong food can make them sick. There's lots of things that could be so I wouldn't ignore that. Some cats stomachs are very sensitive and maybe he's allergic to something. Maybe he's anxious or nervous.
Cats lack the complex social understanding to "fake" illness for attention. Possible causes of vomiting, may be eating something they shouldn't, hairballs, parasites, stress, food allergies, or underlying medical conditions.
We don't want our cats suffering. I hope you will take him to the vet, just to make sure.

Sure. Every time he lets out a meow, throw him outside.. Cats are smart. Just dont let him back in as long as he keeps it up.😷

I highly doubt he does it on purpose 🙄
maybe you should switch his food
