I am dealing with this pain now. I knew I would miss him, but I am mourning this one hard.

So true. My sweet fur baby passed in May, and the ache is still so deep. I miss him so much.

True, for sure. If you posted this because you have recently experienced that unique and intense pain...I am so, so sorry for your loss.

Absolutely, the bond between people and their animal companions is truly special and enduring. It’s a deep, unconditional love that remains with us even through the pain of loss. Thank you for highlighting such a poignant and timeless truth. 💔🐾

Great post

That's a beautiful poignant quote. 😓
After you lose so many over the years (not just dogs), you don't want to get another due to the pain of loss. But then there is joy in giving them a home.

@Magenta It is indeed. I found it very moving.
That's certainly understandable. The pain of losing a pet never gets any easier no matter how many times you've experienced it. Even so, I wouldn't want to live in a home without pets because of the joy they bring to my life. I'd feel very lonely without them.

My animals were all like my children. That is why when they passed they were buried at home and given personal items to take with them. The only one I could not do this for with my German Shepherd Gunner who shot dead by the police after I was already in jail that is one that is going to hurt for a very long time
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@KingofBones1 You clearly loved your animal companions very much. My condolences for those you've lost. I'm really sorry about Gunner.
KingofBones1 · 46-50, M
@Rutterman thank you brother for the very kind words I did they wear my children they have always been. It is okay I know in my heart that one day I will see him again when we cross the rainbow bridge. I hope that your life and your animal companions have the same blessings as I did when I spent my time with him

@KingofBones1 You're welcome, and thank you.

@ThreeLittleBirds Yes. Our pets give us the closest thing to unconditional love we'll ever experience.
