That's a beautiful poignant quote. 😓 After you lose so many over the years (not just dogs), you don't want to get another due to the pain of loss. But then there is joy in giving them a home.
That's certainly understandable. The pain of losing a pet never gets any easier no matter how many times you've experienced it. Even so, I wouldn't want to live in a home without pets because of the joy they bring to my life. I'd feel very lonely without them.
