My 7 month old cat follows me everywhere. No matter what I am doing inside or out he has to have his curious nose in it. He will run off when I use noisy power tools but immediately is back when I shut them off. He is very vocal and talks to me all day. It's very cute and endearing but I have to be constantly aware not to hurt him accidentally. Is this normal for cats?

My cat was a stray when he was rescued from a kill shelter, and had six years of life before I adopted him from a Veterinarian's rescue event. I don't think his life was always kind or easy before his adoption.
He was absolutely terrified when I first brought him home, but after about 2 years of careful treatment and lots of love, he waits till I get up and then runs to the recliner chair for "kitty time". If I [i]don't[/i] have "kitty time" with him right then, I can see that he is disappointed and sometimes he will meow at me and won't shut up.
But he does NOT follow me around other than that. He is his own cat.
