My Parakeet, Ike, Answered His Own Question Last Night….

Once again as I was sitting down to eat dinner….Chuck steak with veggies, Tapioca-Cheese Rolls, Chopped Salad, Green Onions….Ike pipes up and says “What do we have?….Nothing”. I told him “that’s right, you got nothing”. And he said no more. How does a parakeet after so many years start thinking they should be given all sorts of food like humans eat?

Ever since you posted that dog pouting photo to describe the way Ike pouts, I have noticed that my cat is doing the same thing! Goes and sits in the bedroom doorway with his back to me, and glances at me over his shoulder to see if I noticed!

@4meAndyou when my cat pouted she would turn her back to me and face the wall and pretend to ignore me but I watched her ears swivel back when I was talking so she could hear me better. Hehe. I told Ike last night he didn’t need to watch us eat and he immediately turned around on his perch and faced the other way. He understands a great deal of what I tell him.

@cherokeepatti He's a funny, funny little guy, isn't he? 🤣

@4meAndyou He is. People don’t realize that even birds can have different personalities. And Boo-Boo is another one. Him telling Sweet Pea “Do it again” after I scolded her for banging the cage door up & down and making a loud racket….I walked out of the room & went into the bedroom to fold clothes on the bed and he says it.

@4meAndyou You know what else Boo-Boo did. I skipped one day cleaning their cages. The next day he starts asking “Will you take care of me?” And he did it about once an hour. I finally cleaned their cages in the afternoon and gave them fresh food & water. A couple of hours later I reminded him saying “I took care of you, I cleaned your cages” and he says “We know it”. Didn’t want to be reminded I guess.

@cherokeepatti Awww. That is absolutely amazing. It must smell bad to them, so that they are asking to be cleaned. But how absolutely sweet.

@4meAndyou it’s only Boo-Boo that tells me he wants me to take care of him.
