@DunningKruger I know, it's heartbreaking to lose a pet. She had a good, long life. How about adopting a rescued animal that needs love and support in her memory?

@CastorTroy Unfortunately, the wife has too many health issues to deal with a pet for now. Also, we both have trouble with the idea of getting attached to another being with such a limited life span.

@DunningKruger I understand. You have to look at it by knowing they spent their whole life being loved and cared for and you were there for them at the end. So many poor animals never get the chance to have this. I wish you both well.

@DunningKruger I completely understand that. My heart can't take it...it's like they are here for 5 minutes.I won't ever get another furry pet. So sorry you lost your buddy.
