My cat has several names. He was officially named Skittles, (because he was so skittish, I think) when I adopted him. He had been rescued from a kill shelter in New York, and they told the rescuers that he was a stray.
I renamed him, but I never use his formal name. I use it at the vet only, so it makes us BOTH skittish. 🤣🤣🤣
I address him, instead, with his love names...which are Baby, Wee Wee, LITTLE Wee Wee, (when I am feeling redundant), MISTER Wee Wee Baby, and his newest love name, Little Weiner...Weinie for short...🤣🤣🤣...and now, Weinie Baby!
