What I imagine when people say I should move on because someone is waiting out there for me to give love a chance again...

I don't think that anyone should be pressured to move on (or pressured to not move on)....it's something that everyone has to determine for themselves.
Some have no desire to enter another romantic relationship, some don't want to do so for several years and some are eager to seek another relationship after a short period of time.
There's no right or wrong answer in general, but each person should decide for himself/herself.
