@Mellowgirl Depends on what you plan to do with the cult. Own property? Host workshops? Yeah, that takes money. But just existing as a community, that's free. :)

@JimboSaturn Of course! Also, just some trivia knowledge, the idea of castration was not his idea but his followers. He didn't want to do that, but his followers did, so he said okay. After one member almost lost his life after the castration, he said no more. They did eventually find a medical practitioner that was willing to do it, and so those who wanted to did, but it was not required.

@FoxyGoddess eww yuck. Didn't know that either. The whole scene is so depressing to me.

@JimboSaturn Heaven's Gate happened when I was in my teens. I've always had a fascination with it because everyone seemed really happy there. The whole story of Applewhite is kinda sad, and then his partner Bonnie dying, it just is kind of a sad story over all. I think they all died because Applewhite became suicidal and his followers wanted to go with him because they loved him. The whole thing is so sad. One of the few cults I actually feel very sad for all around, not just for the cult members who got conned.
