Do people fake being religious (or not) to skew a situation towards their preferred outcome?
ive heard it happens a fair bit with dating but wonder if it occurs in other social or workplace situations?

People fake a lot of things to turn things to their advantage. A lot of virtue signalling goes on on social media.
