Reminds me when an old lady was trying to get a 2-liter Cokes off the top shelf, and she was a bit short and a bit weak to do that...
So I offered to help, and got them for her (no big deal, glad to help and I don't like watching people struggle)...
But then she went into a LONG LOUD RANT praising and thanking God for the miracle of help... and it was just so awkward...
Like, it was quite literally nothing... and helping made me feel good, but the rant made me feel bad, because it was just too deep for the situation...
And soda is basically addictive poison... so we shouldn't be praising God for that.

Tiny thing...but she hugged me while I just .. cried. It's gonna be ok....all she said.
Hell or high water I'll sit /stand listening to anything she got to say. And It matters but I make sure she knows it.... matters.

@Punxi It’s beautiful that you have this friendship.
In the 60s we integrated one of the areas that had had no black families, and a lot of the local children were not allowed to play with me or my siblings. The few families who were welcoming were Jewish and the daughter of a rabbi befriended me. Her mother was a survivor, had been a child in one of the camps. Mrs Zuckerman told me stories that I still remember.
