This bothers me .....

When someone does or says something and you tell them that it upset or hurt you

Then they say " that's not my intention " ok...but that's not an apology...that's not taking accountability....that's minimizing ...it's diminishing....it's dismissive...it's not ok ....you apologize...you make it right and you try to not do it again ....it's that simple ....

YES. This is exactly what my exbf would do. By the end of it they have you apologizing for them hurting you.

I have been guilty of this and when it is pointed out to me my immediate reply has always been "I am so sorry that was not my intention please accept my apology". I then wait and make sure we can get past that point before we proceed.
