I'd rather not say anything or even make eye contact and risk being thought of as weird than speak and prove that I am. A stranger is just someone who doesn't yet know that I have issues.

That's why i'm more comfortable around strangers - they don't know me, i don't know them. I don't have to act the way i'm supposed to around people who know me. I don't know, i like being around strangers more coz i don't know how they see me, but i see them as human beings, not with all the labels we give to people we know.
