Might be an unpopular opinion but I think love isn't something you're after or actively trying to look for. Or at least it shouldn't be. I think ppl take love or "the idea of love" and put it on this pedestal. Put so much pressure on it. Some ppl do it without even asking why it means so much to them personally. But the truth is it's too much pressure to put on ourselves (and others)because we're all only human. I don't even think when we use that word, we all mean the same thing. I mean love is a very subjective word that can't be put into a tiny box and used universally. And it shouldn't be. People try to do that and I think that's why they fail or end up feeling like they aren't capable of finding this real love everyone seems to speak of. We do this with a lot of things in life.. we use words like love, happiness, peace, success. All these words that sound cool in awesome idealistically. But in the pursuit of all it sometimes we just end up miserable. Because as cool as all of it sounds, by thinking that way all you do is wrap yourself in chains. You bind and limit yourself to these ideas that are almost impossible to truly live up to. That's why it's so important to have your own identity. Live your own life, and define your own values. Maybe you're not capable of society's definition of love. But you can be capable of your own version of love. That's the one that matters more. And the ones who truly love you will stick around.
