Perceived Justification for Rudeness?

Anyone who thinks they are justified in being rude and nasty towards someone because of an unintended lack in performance is a scummy piece of shit.

Yeah, I just started a new job 5 days ago at a grocery store. I work in the deli department. Some dude indirectly called me an idiot and brain dead because I couldn’t find a specific type of sandwich meat. He had no idea I was new so I didn’t respond. I also know that responding defensively would’ve likely only made the situation worse so I walked into the cooler like I didn’t hear a thing.

When I came out, one of my co-workers was already helping him out and told him it was only my 3rd day. He seemed sorry and then started being all nice out of nowhere. I gotta admit, it was difficult to be kind to him for the rest of the those last 3 minutes when he was unkind to me from the get-go.

But I gotta admit, it just doesn’t bother me nearly as much anymore. I didn’t have to prove anything to that guy, some stranger. Anyway, it still kind of stung. Just wish people wouldn’t jump to conclusions like he did.
