Do you insult and make fun of others to feel superior?

I mock opinions sometimes, but try hard never to personalise. Unfortunately, sometimes people think a strong rebuttal to a debating point is a personal attack.

I have nothing to be superior about.

@FreddieUK Ideas, I believe, are open for ridicule, especially when they are ridiculous and without foundation.
Its a strange upside down world from when I was young in it and now its attack the person and ignore the ridiculousness if they are somehow on your "side".
We are not progressing in this, but regressing and it is sad to see.

@FreddieUK I like to at least try to adhere to a general rule when it comes to insulting someone's intelligence.

I wait until after I've made an argument that destroys theirs before I say anything. Because insulting somebody is definitely not a rebuttal, but it can be the privilege when one has attained victory.
