I love it when people try to shame me

I don't let people shame me.

I just don't.

I'm an adult. I know what I have said and my reasons for those statements. If I am proven wrong, I'm happy to admit I'm wrong because it's always good to grow, even of you caused the error.

But don't ever try to shame me to kowtow to your beliefs on how people should behave. That simply isn't going to work. If I make a public statement about something controversial, chances are, I'm aware of the things surrounding it all. I'm still going to voice my thoughts. If you show me where I've errored in my opinion, awesome. I change my position to learn more.

But if anyone ever comes at me with a real "Don't you feel bad for the way you feel about this situation I feel bad for?"

Nope. Not one iota and I'll even tell you why. Because how dare you try to use shame to get someone to accept your thoughts and feelings. That is not just gross and offensive, it's demeaning. I am not a child.

Shame on you, Sir.

Shame on you.

I get a lot of that when I decide I’m less interested in "being the better person". Which I feel often, now that I’m old and am seeing less real benefit in it. It doesn’t even seem to gain one much respect. 🙁

@bijouxbroussard I totally relate to that. I don't mind new information, but if you are going to try and shame me, I don't have time for that nonsense. Be an adult and talk to me like one, otherwise, keep your mouth shut. No one needs that.
