Why do they act like this isn't a thing?

I've had waitresses be rude to me for no reason and whenever I share this experience. People are quick to be like "well, what did you do them? They are the second coming of Christ or something. Waitresses are capable of being rude they don't need a reason sometimes they don't like seeing pretty faces.

I hate it when waitresses say, "Honey" or "Darlin' ".

It's better than a waiter saying it to me...

It surprised one of the waitresses when I said that; she was completely thrown by that.

This last time I was told that, I mentioned it while paying and the cashier/shift manager(? it seemed) appeared bemused. So I told her, "Here's how much it bothered me" and crossed out the tip info on the line on my CC receipt as she looked.

[I need to pay in cash for such meals, as once, the restaurant committed fraud by writing in a tip...! That restaurant has been out of business for well over a decade.]
