In parts of the world an introduction and the common civilities still matter a good deal!

They are an acknowledgement of a fellow human being and their are so many people who have no clue about this, no understanding, they just want to pander to their particular foibles without being in any way affable to others. They really are not the type of people who will do well in life, I think, and perhaps it is a lack of simple manners and empathy for others that holds them back in life.

What do you, dear reader, think?

This sounds about right. Many parts of society have become coarse, abrasive, selfish. Manners and decency smooth the rough edges and build friendships and relationships. What is “society” without these?
@Darin99branch Divided States, to name one part...
(shivers) I want out...BUT IT'S NOT AS EASILY DONE AS JUST SAYING.
