A "good Christian" woman once informed me after the loss of my husband and son that it was "God’s punishment" for my having been an ally to gays and lesbians. I was so hurt that I was speechless, but my mother overheard and she was not.
She verbally tore the woman apart. It brought us much closer. 🥹
@bijouxbroussard That was a mean, heartless, and manipulative thing to say to you in your time of pain and grief. I'm sorry that happened.

@bijouxbroussard Religion makes good people do horrible things.
@bijouxbroussard Who does or says that to another person?! People are twisted! I'm sorry she was so wicked and had absolutely no tack. Good for your Mom. I would've tore into her too. We're here to support each other, not knock each other down. Grrr
@bijouxbroussard That just makes me sad.
@bijouxbroussard If this "god" thing hands out random punishments for supporting LGBTQ+, does it not prove that if it does exist , it is evil?
@jackieash That would be a fair conclusion.
