Positive Update...and New Challenges.
In my previous post, I was in MAJOR emotional peril. I lost clients while recovering from Pituitary Adenoma surgery and getting back on my feet has been harder than I thought it would be.
This past Friday, after I trained my morning clients, I had an interview at the local YMCA just a few minutes away. I grew some balls and walked in there a week prior, asking for a job application. Who does that anymore???
I followed up last Tuesday, and the following day a manager called me, asking why I'd want to work with them, since they pay "pennies on the dollar" compared to what I make with my other company. When I made it clear I wasn't above less pay for the sake of consistency, she invited me for an interview.
Things went so well that at the very end of the interview, the manager extended her hand to me and congratulated me on making a wonderful first impression. Its strictly a part-time, secondary job. It's a BUFFER, not what saves me. But it'll keep me stable while I rebuild. But I was also presented with quite a few opportunities. The manager said she wants me to teach classes, which provides a major opportunity for me! I go back tomorrow to submit my certs and background check and we take it from there.
But THAT is the new challenge: how the fuck do I align my schedule to avoid burnout? If I burn out, I certainly can't work or function. My boss at my main job is showing MAJOR signs of burnout due to a MAJOR personal problem and we as a company are suffering for it!
I'm proud of myself for job hunting the old school way and not just applying for things online. That was once THE thing to do, but that style is so oversaturated these days that it's difficult to stand out. I think this'll be my preferred method from here on on whenever necessary.
