This is what I don’t understand

Have you ever met a bad person who pretends to be good until they get you alone and reveal who they are 😳

My question is why act? Why not just be upfront about it? What’s the sneakiness for?

Everyone eventually finds out it’s not like they’re really fooling anyone other than themselves

Sure, and I imagine so has everyone else. It's, I think, that they know very well how off-putting the real self they are is and they prey upon people's naiveness to get close to them before they reveal who they are. I'm not even sure they always know they are doing it, but for some I know it's a calculated plan, or they just don't care that they are manipulating people.
