The problem though with online attention is that it isn't very real. If even the most popular ones vanished then most would not notice anyways.

There are a lot of people on here. It seems like it is best to focus on individuals rather than cliques. It is a little more one on one rather than having to walk on eggshells lest you piss of one of the clique members and then end up with several enemies.

It can kind of suck to go to your favorite forum and feel left out but it doesn't have to be. Just try to interact more with people who do not have their heads up the clique's backside.

@Punches You explained it perfectly. I upset member of the cliques which led to years of being hated and bullied . I loathe these cliques and I think they devalue the site as a whole. On Ep I never really saw people follow cliques. That is why Ep was more genuine, people thought for themselves instead of following the leader. These cliques are mostly the people 25-35 in age and they weren’t on Ep luckily. They would have ruined it from the start.

I definitely like one on one but the problem is these cliques are constantly collecting friends. They try to take over the site so how can I ever trust anyone when they can befriend one of my haters ? It’s happened to me soo many times. The lady that hates me is practically befriending young and old. She’s early 30s and she’s friends with people my age and older. I’m surprised she’s close to people I thought she would never know. The truth is this site won’t get any better until all the members of the cliques leave and go join another site but that won’t happen.

@SW-User one of the people I interact with on here regularly is very popular but has a lot of haters for some reason but now me, I am nobody on here. I do not choose friends based on who their friends are. For me it's more about the conversations than who is who. For the record, I've never heard anything bad about you. As far as the 25 to 35 age range, I am beyond that and I just don't care if I'm popular or not. Also I've always found it a pleasure to interact with you. Even if somebody told me that you were horrible, it would not change my mind because you've always been cool with me.

@Punches Thank you, I think you’re cool as well. You have that Ep vibe that it’s genuine. I never care for the 25-35 age group but they’re the ones that want to pick on me because I’m guessing they haven’t matured yet. 🙄 I swear I mostly want nothing to do with most of them but they cause drama for me from time to time. I don’t take this site as seriously as o did before and I regret ever taking it seriously. Even if a person is depressed they shouldn’t rely on this site to vent because they will just be pushed down even deeper by the cruel ones here. It’s time most people started doing more offline and avoiding this place when they can.

@SW-User For me, this is just some place to hang out when it is slow at work or if I am at home just lazing around. I am close enough to age 50 (Dear God how did I get this old?) anyways, I am not trying to be fake or popular at this point.

I did have an account on EP but I was almost never there. It moved way faster than what I was used to so I think I went a couple times but then gave up. Only part I remember was it was layed out like this one.

I am sometimes guilty of sh^t-talking on here but it is not my entire purpose.

OH and about people being depressed and shouldn't be on this site, some are way worse as far as abuse but yeah this place isn't exactly "therapeutic" unless some popular person is depressed.

@Punches Yes, this is true. I’m no spring chicken either. Ep was a blast. I never got bored there, but, I regret interacting with one or two jerks on there. We all make mistakes and I was younger and new to social sites. It was odd because I felt like a whole different person on there. I did meet a lot of fun people. On here it seems only a selective few get the most attention and the rest are leftover crumbs. I don’t bother anymore being liked. I don’t think I need to be liked here. As long as I don’t harass people and they don’t harass me then I’m fine.
