Oh, I would love too. And I would have the means to do so though as well. True home steading and making your living off of a homestead would be tough.
I have a farm I have nearly taken off of the grid myself. With 16 solar panels that produce twice what I use daily, and I sell the excess back to the power company.

In my younger days maybe I would. Too late now.

We are, been for almost 20 years

No harder than living in society these days. And it would be calmer, safer and a lot more private, especially if you didn't use a computer or cell phone.

Absolutely. If I had more of a family I would.

No. The furthest I'd go would be having a few chickens to have eggs. Other than that, I'd love to have a garden with fruit trees and grow some vegetables as well.
Not that I would know how to take care of it all now. I would have to learn a lot.

No doubt it's hard work. When I was very young all of my family had farms or grew gardens and raised thier own livestock. I didn't get to know it much. Maybe it was of how young I was, but it seemed a happier time.
BizSuitStacy · M
Very hard work. More people are turning back to that lifestyle. There may be a time in the future where it becomes necessary.
carpediem · 61-69, M
No way. I worked hard so I didn't have to live off the land. Respect those who do, just not for me.

I intend to when my responsibilities are concluded
mooncrest02 · 31-35, F
At one point i wanted to. Not anymore.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@mooncrest02 I never really wanted to when I was young and then I got older and thought about it but it's too hard of a life when you're old

Learn how if you want to do it.
Doesn't matter what others think, right?

@Shadyglow I was just asking, because I don't think I would want to,but was curious what others thought
Shadyglow · F
@Justmeraeagain If you mean trying to carve out an artificial reconstruction of what we think 1878 was like in America we wont ever have time to work on anything else. That said if you want a more natural way of life there are modern ecological ways of doing it. Dont even have to buy a farm. You can join one or a non-farm, but they are living better than anyone...

I wouldn't mind living out in the country a bit but no, not into homesteading haha.

I agrée. I don’t think I could manage it at this stage. Possibly when I was younger I could’ve done that kind of work.
DDonde · 31-35, M
I like to think so
