I had old-fashioned parents, too, but my father was always ‘Dad.’
If it’s healthy respect and not fear, I don’t think it’s a bad thing.
Dad did try to get us to call Mom “Mother” but that was a lost cause.

@HunterDude Well, fear is part of respect - but I meant as long as you don’t call him ‘sir’ because he’ll knock you through the picture window if you don’t.

It’s respectful... I call most men “sir” when talking. Not necessarily an old fashion thing
