With all due respect, she is clueless. You’re right. It’s a promo. Some buckets will have great stuff and others won’t. You can’t be ripped off if you didn’t pay anything.
In fairness, it sounds like at least part of what she's asking for is branded merch, which is free advertising for them... maybe give them a pair of cheap odd socks or a Lowes t-shirt or something.
