Travel does broaden the mind, which can be done with reading too.
@SW-User It does if you have an enquiring mind to begin with. I know a few people who boast they've been to lots of countries, but for all the rubbish they spout about people abroad, they might has well have stayed in their back garden.

@autumngirl27 The Wizard of Oz was about being careful while traveling. You have to understand technology, how bad people with lighters can hurt you if you're simply a straw-man and how traveling balloons work and what courage is to take all the chances you are offered to get to a better place...and how much heart that takes as well...! Cour in French...means "heart"
@Shadyglow I'll be honest. I didn't understand that.

@autumngirl27 courageous means full of "heart"...or kindness.
@Shadyglow I meant the whole thing. About people setting light to strawmen or something like that.

@autumngirl27 There were political overtones to that show. Strawmen are only representations of something more solid and get burned all too often for no real reason, industrial workers have their hearts ripped out of them all too often and its hard to get up the courage to speak up when there are so many dictators and witches with bolts of lightening and powers we are denied....
@Shadyglow Right, now I get it. Thanks. I've never seen Wizard of Oz (but you've probably guessed that already).
