it offends me when people say “Mexican restaurants”

Instead of saying Spanish restaurant or Latino restaurant

Because why do Americans just assume that the only Latino residing people are Mexican?

That just irks me

It also irks me when people don’t understand culture and lump People together

People assume all Asians are Chinese

Or all Latinos are Mexican.

@Lilnonames if a restaurant isn’t a self proclaimed Mexican restaurant you can’t just call it “Mexican”

It’s not Mexican. Mexicans aren’t the only Latino people. There’s Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Peruvians, Argentinans, Peoppe from Guiana who also sometimes consider themselves Indian

You can’t go around lumping people together with no consideration to their identity. it’s disrespectful
