Is there something commonly said on SW that really gets on your nerves?

What is it?

When people say 'they'll be back on another account or back tomorrow or even spread unsubstantiated rumours that someone is hiding in another account - no bich, not everyone is playing those games. Some people genuinely leave, even if they come back months/years later.

I agree very much and I'm being serious. Everyone who takes the trouble to contribute deserves to be taken at face value. If they take the opposite view a minute later that's their right. If they are writing a fantasy they are still expressing something about themselves.

@alan20 It's always a projection, true. Even if all they are projecting is close mindedness.

@SW-User As my thinking continues there are some traits that annoy me. Like hypocrisy or an attempt to cloak something under a veil of moral righteousness. But although I'm an atheist for instance I can admire someone who genuinely has the opposite conviction. I'd have bother getting on with a Trumpite I have to admit.

@alan20 I think sometimes hypocrisy is people just changing their minds or not knowing themselves well enough and speaking about it - and sometimes it's malicious. It can be hard to discern. Sometimes I have caught myself being a hypocrite but its been because I wasn't very convinced of my 'belief'. 😂

@SW-User I'm not trying to soap you up but I really can't see you being a hypocrite. I'm much more open to that criticism myself. I know what you mean about not having thought deeply enough about one's belief. Different people can bring out different things in my makeup. Also I can be changeable and like to think its being "spontaneous" which sometimes is a euphemism. With one exception when I was young and innocent re. SW., I've never blocked anyone. The downside of that is I often forget people who have seriously not thought much of my views.

@alan20 Thank you. My 'hypocrisy' is mostly a lack of self awareness which corrects itself as awareness comes in and I'm also very changeable. I'm not stuck on ideals or beliefs and always prone to 'growth'.
I know what you mean about yourself.

@SW-User You awaken early. I still haven't. Someone who tries to be honest, whatever the degree of success, cannot be hypocritical; I think, though when I think of my own mother.......I was thinking overnight about what a amazingly segregated adolescence I had : Catholics kept away from Protestants, boys from girls, those who passed their 11-Plus and thereby qualified for a lifetime of torture and terror at the hands of the Brothers and Nuns kept away from the "stupid" - what a healthy society of alienation. No wonder the Irish have a strange sense of humour. Whilst you as an English girl spent all your time reading poetry, being angelic, all things sugar and spice. Have a fun day, Aido. I wish I knew your real name but you don't know mine either!
SW-User
@alan20 I certainly did not spend my time reading poetry, being angelic and all things sugar and spice. 😂 Would I be here if that was how my childhood was? Lol rhetoric. I got a giggle anyway with that depiction.

@SW-User Good. You're open to Irish Humour. I think they call it sardonic. I was about to write you a Limerick I composed but it might identify me to certain people. "There was a young man from Ballylin; Who spent his youth wondering how it went in ......."
SW-User
@alan20 when I worked in UK, I came across many Irish business men. They have always been charming. Not to mention creative. I've always enjoyed their humour. 😂
Interesting beginning of the Limerick.

@SW-User Good. Some day I must piece together all these snippets of information and write your biography'. It would be really funny if it turned out that you'd run across my son but London is a big place.
SW-User
@alan20 I doubt you have enough snippets. It could be a fun exercise. Btw, I no longer reside in UK - just to add another snippet. I was visiting family in UK though, when I was gone from here last.

@SW-User Give me time girl! 💚
SW-User
@alan20 Take all you need. :)
alan20 · M
@SW-User That could be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.
SW-User
@alan20 Surely not. Surely there have been other nice things in your life that have just been forgotten now?
alan20 · M
@SW-User You tell me yours and....
SW-User
@alan20 I've had many nice things said to me over the life I have lived, and many not so nice. Right now I am unable to recall it specifically. I feel content in the moment though, right now, right here. That is me being nice to myself, lol.

@SW-User Sometimes you take the wind out of my sails by appearing to be serious. I once got more than I bargained for by saying to a former girlfriend about her then current husband - "I suppose he's big?". "Enormous". I expect I asked for that.
