People who joke about being abused

I don't understand. Why and How is this funny? Like how they got abused, but making jokes about it.
Now I think they are lying. It is like they are on the abuser's side.

I used to joke about it because it made me really uncomfortable and nervous to tell people the truth at first. It was always something I had to hide. So letting it out was awkward for awhile until I settled with it.

People are where they are. Best not to judge, it’s not helpful for anyones growth.
