People who joke about being abused

I don't understand. Why and How is this funny? Like how they got abused, but making jokes about it.
Now I think they are lying. It is like they are on the abuser's side.

The way i see it is we should all be able to laugh at ourselves. Sometimes finding humor in one's own suffering is the best way to cope.
And some people do make up stuff up to get attention or to get off.
Hard to say who is laying or telling the truth.
