How do you show up for others?

Do you let the people in your life be completely themselves or do you unconsciously build a world in your head of who they are and try to fit them into it?

I encourage people to be 100% themselves and people tell me that they can around me and they appreciate it.

Awesome I bet thats a good feeling. I do too, I love it when they tell me about their wins and losses in their lives. I do struggle to be around them when others are around that they don’t feel comfortable being themselves around though, it throws me off when their not being genuine.
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
@Reflective it does and I get to be my dorky self them too. 😁

I'm here is they're feeling emotional or I'm trying to make a laugh to put a smile on their face.

I accept people for who they are, at least I try to
Reflective · 36-40, M
@Boleuskas I try too also, while leaving room for them to change too. Don’t want to hold them to being who they once were

Pro bono counseling sessions lol..

I aspire to be accepting, but also maintains healthy boundaries with them. Accepting who they are doesn’t mean accepting toxic stuff into my life.

Nice I do that too @WhateverWorks
Reflective · 36-40, M
@WhateverWorks exactly, toxic people can kiss my ass
The former.
The latter is a one way ticket to dysfunctional relationships and misery.

@hartfire agreed
Lilnonames · F
Most try to fit in my world. But very few accomplish this goal
Lilnonames · F
@Reflective and too fast
Reflective · 36-40, M
@Lilnonames that sucks, it feels like it’s hard to find people willing to take their time to get to know someone.
Lilnonames · F
@Reflective I agree
