I am Type 1 Diabetic

A lot of people don't know that type 1 and type 2 are completely different. Most people know someone who is type 2. And people say to me How can you be diabetic? You're not fat!
Actually type 1 diabetics are just 5% of all diabetics. We get it when we are children. Our pancreas doesn't make insulin. So we have to inject it. Or like me, we have to wear a pump that injects it.
It means testing blood glucose a lot. Many times I prick my finger and blood doesn't come out and I say It's like blood getting out of a stone!
Many times I just want to go to sleep and never wake up, but my life is too precious for that. Life is sacred.

There is a new development you might be interested in. A friend of mine wears a patch (There is a needle under it, permanently in his skin, but he does not have to prick himself every day. The needle is already in place, and he does not feel it.) He then has an app on his phone, and he can check his glucose by going to the app. (And if he ingests too much sugar at once, the phone will sound an alarm!)

And please.....wake up tomorrow. And every day! :)

@DrWatson Dear Dr Watson. You have been so kind to me, watching out for me. I am soon getting a new kind of pump. We change it every three days. And it can go in the water!
So I can forget it when I am on Lifeguard duty!

@Blodyn That is fantastic! I hope that new pump works out for you.

Swimming was never my forte. In fact, there was one time when lifeguard actually dove in to get me when I panicked in deep water (I was pretty young). So I am very appreciative of lifeguards!

@DrWatson Thank you. It's nice to know someone appreciates lifeguards! Kids don't. We blow a whistle at them every time they try to kill themselves. What spoilsports!
