For the nerdy users here, and I know you all hiding in the shadows...

I cannot for the life of me understand why Final Fantasy 7 was so popular? I remember it being released on the PlayStation one and shortly after exploding with popularity.

I tired it and realized it sucked the big one... What did I miss?

Help me folks.

The story of cloud and the jenova project is super deep plus when ___ dies it makes you cry ya know? I wasnt born that early butttt ik from playing retro games that most JRPGs from that time were super 2D story lines ik the battle system is super simple but tbh i play for the story
@MrBrownstone traditional turnbased battle system not active and it doesnt connect online

@TryingtoLava Like the old school game “Gladius” I loved that game.
@MrBrownstone no silly JRPGs are turn based

I was hoping Blitzball would have been a spin off of FFx and become it's own game, even multiplayer, I might be wrong, did it ever?
Jessmari · 46-50
@AllycatAD No it didn't, but yeah that was a fun mini game once you got used to it.

The story is what really sold it with it's iconic characters. The game play would be slow and repetitive by today's standards.

It was the first 3d one all the other ones were 2d on the nes and snes but i have always liked final fantasy 8 better
@GeorgeTBH enjoyed 8 as well. Oddly 9 grew one after a while too.
