I Am a Computer Geek
I am a computer geek in every sense of it. They are an obsession of mine, hardware and software excite me.
I feel about my computer the same way some musicians would feel about their instruments. It is my tool, it holds my means of self expression and it allows me a level of connection to something that I feel completely isolated from. I love her... as I have loved all the computers that came before her and all the ones I will have after.
This obsession for computers is something I have carried with me since childhood. The day I was informed of my mother’s death, I sat down in front of our household terminal, and in many ways, I never really stood up again. I am not saying that my computer replaced my mother; that would be ridiculous. What I am saying is that those sequence of events inadvertently led me to discover a whole new world. A world that makes a hell of a lot more sense than the one we live in. The virtual world.
