1490wayb I'm 76, and there STILL aren't words to describe me.
However, that doesn't keep people who can't put their finger on who and what I am from applying their
own (almost always negative) description of me, and sharing that description with their like-minded friends, who then, taking their friend's word as fact, won't have anything to do with me.
In a way, I guess it's a useful service - process of elimination. I'm looking for people who are willing to come to the horse's mouth instead of hearing about me from the
other end of the horse through their fear-laden friends. But to find that kind of openness in someone, is
very rare.
People are afraid of, and move away from what they don't know. And, as long as they hold to that practice, there's no way they can EVER know the truth about someone. That is, without simply going to them and asking.
But since they think they already know, there's no point in looking farther. It's game over. It's a great way to hold onto prejudice and ignorance. And it's so isolating and destructive.
