People over 70, do you find it cringe when they make movies or shows about the 1940s or 50s?

I cringe when I see stranger things they’re trying to imitate the 80s but it’s not right at all. It’s depressing.. the 80s were the opposite of that.

The biggest cringe ever was 'Grease'.

@supersnipe You couldn’t suspend disbelief enough to accept those grown adults (some with receding hairlines) as teenagers?

@BamPow Not so much that, but the songs were in the wrong style. If it were, say, 1958 and you were making a film about the Swing era, you wouldn't fill the soundtrack up with rock'n'roll! But they made a film about the 50s complete with 70s pop...

@supersnipe I’ll co-sign that. I felt the same about the Elvis movie from a couple of years ago. I’ll never understand why they opted for modern music in some of those scenes with such a rich catalog of music from that era to choose from.

@BamPow And Olivia Newton John wearing spandex. I dont think they had that in the 50s.

@BamPow that’s ridiculous
