Intelligence is a variable, insofar as to where or how you acquire it? Seeing great value in intelligence is crucial, in my view.

I like intelligent people who think rather than get dragged along by the mob!

IQ tests are, for the most part, meaningless because the questions depend on a shared culture between the question-setter and the question-answerer. When I was doing my degree (Sociology. But did I go to University? It is now but it wasn't in my time) I recall case involving a child brought up in the country and his answers to a question about different forms of transport. I don't remember the exact details but I know he'd never seen a tube train but he had seen a tractor. A city person is familiar with different forms of public transport, a country person with different forms of motorised vehicles. Was the rural child less intelligent?

@ArtieKat The rural child is more likely to be able to operate the tractor and change the oil as well,if that has any bearing on the subject.
