I Am An Introvert Infp

If only i could control the volume of the noises and voices and all kinds of sounds entering my ears, i would keep it on mute or at its lowest 75% of time!
Where is the mute button on my ears in real life?
I don’t want to hear nor am I interested in all that chatter of people!

Let me be selective in what goes on into my ears.

My mother actually went deaf, and I noticed that she only responded to me when she was facing me. She had apparently learned to read lips and didn't know she was doing it.

We spent $6000.00 on state of the art hearing aids for her, only to discover that she hated the world of sound. She would start and freak out when she heard a bird singing. She really hated being able to hear and she was always taking the hearing aids out.

Eventually, dementia overtook her mind, (and that sometimes happens to people who can't or won't hear normal sounds and voices), and she left her hearing aids on a low table, and she allowed her little black pug dog to chew $6000.00 to pieces.

@4meAndyou Dogs love to chew up hearing aids. I think they are using animal fat in the plastic so it happens and they have to be replaced.

@cherokeepatti In her case, I think they were covered in ear wax, and the dog seemed to love it.

@4meAndyouThere is a substitute teacher who is in her 30s at the boy's school who told the class that she took her hearing aids out and put them on the nightstand as usual and they disappeared, she blamed her dog.

@cherokeepatti Dogs eat disgusting things all the time. Probably thought they were chew toys...🤣

@4meAndyou I've read a column by a vet who said that dogs and even cats will chew on wires and other plastic things because they put beef tallow in the plastic. I think there should be a law that hearing aid providers warn their customers that hearing aids, if taken out of their ears, should be placed in a container that snaps shut securely to keep pets from consuming them.

@cherokeepatti Especially if they cost $3000.00 per ear. It wouldn't have helped in my mother's case, though. The dementia had caused her to be so ornery she was probably hoping the dog would chew them. She reminded me of a naughty, willful, malicious 6 year old at times.
