M&M’s ‘spokescandies’.... what does anyone have to say about it all?

Is this really such a big deal that people get upset about it?

I'm not 100% sure what the problem is/was, but from the little I've heard it's just another example of the PC/Woke/Cancel Culture at its most ridiculous. BUT, like I said, I'm not even sure exactly what the problem was, so I'm just guessing.

@ChipmunkErnie It's about a company making a marketing decision. They conduct research and if they find out certain depictions are seen as not so popular they change it. What is generally seen as "cancel culture" are just voiced opinions that are easily spread through social media etc... and indicate a trend.
I find the argument funny that "woke" people have so much power to "cancel" things and people while in fact it's often just that more popular values within a society are favoured and companies are all about making money therefore follow these current trends and mindsets within a society.

@FragileHeart It's more that corporations run from controversy and those who scream the loudest, from what I can see. As I see people and things "cancelled,I find it funny that people ignore the fact.

@ChipmunkErnie That's a good point but in order for things to turn into a controversy there must be at least a certain amount of doubt or criticism within broader society and in many cases a majority doesn't care while a group of people sees something as offensive and the group in favor of it is small as well.
I just don't think there is a black and white to it.
