did anyone hear about that idiot who hijacked a cessna....

in victoria and flew it to yvr (vancouver) airspace and circled around for 30 minutes before norad got involved and dispatched 4 fighter jets? apparently shaheer cassim was an environmental activist and was protesting something...scary thing is i think it took 30 minutes for those jets to arrive

Reminds me of that case out here near Seattle a few years ago where this person stole a plane, performed a few tricks in the air, and then crashed the plane into a remote island in the Puget Sound.

Turns out he was suicidal and that's how he left the world. He was the only casualty, but it was kinda scary in the immediate aftermath of it to think of all the horrible ways that could have ended up

I once had to call 911 for someone and it took the ambulance 20 minutes to travel 4 blocks.

@beermeplease That's the only time I've called it. I got a short message putting me on hold then a long message in Spanish so thought I must have misdialed and I hung up and called again and got through. Two hours later a cop car pulled up saying there had been a hangup call and was everything okay.
