Forgive, to me, means to fully exonerate. Not allowing yourself to forget means you may look at everyone thereafter as a possible repeat - so you may always live your life on guard.

@RenFur Forgiving, to me, means to be able to go forward without anger at the person. Even when I can do that, depending on what was done, of course, I [b]am[/b] on guard. I don’t give people multiple opportunities to hurt me.
