Two years ago, I never could have dreamed that life could be this good

I used to get angry at people for being positive because I was hopeless. And to be fair, given the evidence, I had every reason to be.

It is important to meet people where they are in their sorrows. Thank you to the people here who did that for me without being cruel or condescending. ❤️

And to people who are struggling now, you're not alone and your feelings are SO valid.
I remember when things were so difficult. I can’t tell you how happy I am that everything’s improved so much. It’s said that life can turn on a dime, and it’s so true.

I’ve told this story before…I have a very superstitious friend, and she knew I used to do tarot readings a long time ago. She persuaded me against my better judgment, and in the spread, prominently appearing, was the Death card. I hastened to reassure her that it didn’t mean literal death, but that changes were coming (and there were, she was scheduled to retire at the end of the year). But it terrified her, and she left.

She told me later that she was crying, afraid she was going to die before she could retire, and driving rather erratically. She got within a block of her home, and was stopped by a police officer. He let her drive to her house and then got out and talked to her, for quite awhile, and didn’t ticket her. They ended up exchanging phone numbers. She said she was amazed at how kind he was, and easy on the eyes !

So by the end of the year, she was both retired—and had a new husband. 🥰

@bijouxbroussard This is so cute. I hope they are happy together ❤️
@SwampFlower This happened in 2001, and they are still together. Now he’s retired, too.

I’m feeling that hopelessness now. Feeling invisible and resigned to the fact I am nothing except mom for another 10 years and no help or love is coming. I just have to be okay with it.

It is a rare treat when I can express my feelings and be acknowledged. Most people are mean or just cut you out when they see you are having a hard time.

I’m glad you made it through.

I am so glad you did not die, because you have been nice to me, and fun.

I am glad you drop in from time to time!

I do not think I am that smart. I really learned that when I went to graduate school, where everybody was smart, and many were much smarter than I was. I struggled. Fortunately, I am smarter than most of my coworkers, and more diligent at times. So they come to me for help. I want to help, but sometimes I get so tired. I cannot get my work done if I have to train others!

While you are picking my brain, if you find any plaques please suction them out.

YAY!

American Exceptionalism!

Yet we need to keep down our boasting. The President of France is in town. Let us stuff our prideful mouths with baguettes.

I remember very well all you went through. ALL the treatments. You were convinced that you would not survive at times. I am so glad that you made it through that dark tunnel, and came out the other side, living in God's light and love. 🤗🤗🤗

Your journey has been nothing short of incredible. I am so happy. And yeah, I am -always- hopeful and this is well, well, beyond what I had ever hoped for you. Ya doin' good.
